چکیده

In this study, a new approach based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was presented for detection of electrocardiographic changes in patients with partial epilepsy. Decision making was performed in two stages: feature extraction using the wavelet transform (WT) and the ANFIS trained with the backpropagation gradient descent method in combination with the least squares method. Two types of electrocardiogram (ECG) beats (normal and partial epilepsy) were obtained from the MIT-BIH database. The proposed ANFIS model combined the neural network adaptive capabilities and the fuzzy logic qualitative approach. Some conclusions concerning the impacts of features on the detection of electrocardiographic changes were obtained through analysis of the ANFIS. The performance of the ANFIS classifier was evaluated in terms of training performance and classification accuracies and the results confirmed that the proposed ANFIS classifier has potential in detecting the electrocardiographic changes in patients with partial epilepsy. q 2004 Elsevier Ltd. Estimating the Optimal Dosage of Sodium Valproate in Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy with Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

Introduction: Epilepsy is a clinical syndrome in which seizures have a tendency to recur. Sodium valproate is the most effective drug in the treatment of all types of generalized seizures. Finding the optimal dosage (the lowest effective dose) of sodium valproate is a real challenge to all neurologists. In this study, a new approach based on Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) was pre...

Long-term Streamflow Forecasting by Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System Using K-fold Cross-validation: (Case Study: Taleghan Basin, Iran)

Streamflow forecasting has an important role in water resource management (e.g. flood control, drought management, reservoir design, etc.). In this paper, the application of Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is used for long-term streamflow forecasting (monthly, seasonal) and moreover, cross-validation method (K-fold) is investigated to evaluate test-training data in the model.Then,...

Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System application for hydrothermal alteration mapping using ASTER data

The main problem associated with the traditional approach to image classification for the mapping of hydrothermal alteration is that materials not associated with hydrothermal alteration may be erroneously classified as hydrothermally altered due to the similar spectral properties of altered and unaltered minerals. The major objective of this paper is to investigate the potential of a neuro-fuz...

Detection and Classification of Epileptic Seizures using Wavelet feature extraction and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

Epilepsy, a neurological disorder in which patients suffer from recurring seizures, affects approximately 1% of the world population. In this work, an attempt has been made to enhance the diagnostic importance of EEG using Adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and Wavelet transform coefficients. For this study, EEG for 20 normal and 30 seizure subjects under standard recording procedure...

Application of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system for epileptic seizure detection using wavelet feature extraction

Intelligent computing tools such as artificial neural network (ANN) and fuzzy logic approaches are demonstrated to be competent when applied individually to a variety of problems. Recently, there has been a growing interest in combining both these approaches, and as a result, neuro-fuzzy computing techniques have been evolved. In this study, a new approach based on an adaptive neuro-fuzzy infer...
